ADVANCE INNOVATIVE EDUCATION WINS $50K GRANT FOR SCHOOL LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

Advance Innovative Education (AIE), a premier organization in charter school design and leadership development, was recently awarded a $50,000 School Leadership Program grant by the Huey and Angelina Wilson Foundation. This project is an opportunity to produce new leaders who have the courage and skills to change school cultures, pushing instructional issues to the forefront of the reform agenda. Redesigning Lessons, Re-envisioning Principals (RLRP), is a program to develop principals and assistant principals so they master essential leadership skills.
Description & Goals Primarily, the program will: (1) carefully select participant s who have strong instructional track records; (2) provide intensive training and professional development that will result in educational leaders ready to lead their own schools; (3) instill in participants the skills to become entrepreneurs, who will make changes and take risks to ensure student achievement; (4) instill the value of learning among all stakeholders by providing authentic educational experiences; (5) build human capacity through open communication, collaboration with all stakeholders, and distribution of responsibilities; (6) set clear goals and expectations; and (7) collect data to not only measure progress but also to inform practice.

Redesigning Lessons, Re-envisioning Principals (RLRP) is a principal certification program that is delivered in partnership with the LSU College of Business, area school districts, and charter schools. Our vision is to create educational leaders who possess the courage and skills to change school cultures, and who push instructional issues to the forefront in order to maximize the potential of every child.
